MY -

CAREER AS

A PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Julie Rosenberg, PT, MS, MA

JULIE ROSENBERG, PT, MS, MA
OWNER OF JULIE ROSENBERG, PT PC AND TREATING PHYSICAL THERAPIST

My path into the healthcare field began as a competitive triathlete where I first-hand experienced the effects & benefits of endurance training on the Human Body. From here, I was led to become an Exercise Physiologist and then, Physical Therapist.

Early on and throughout in my career as Exercise Physiologist, I worked alongside coaches, athletes, research scientists in New York City gyms, fitness centers and exercise testing & training laboratories as Trainer and Coach to help clients achieve peak performance. In the classroom, I taught undergraduate classes in fitness, nutrition & weight control.

It was while coaching injured NYC marathon runners, rehabbing them in the aquatic environment, when I was inspired to become a Physical Therapist. As a New York State licensed Physical Therapist I have focused my work on adults with Orthopedic injuries as staff PT in Private Practices before opening my own Aquatic & Land Based Physical Therapy & Wellness Center, Amphibious Rx.

As an Adjunct Lecturer & Clinical Instructor for Graduate and Undergraduate Programs in Physical Therapy and Health Sciences, I had the opportunity to contribute to the knowledge base of students entering the healthcare field and collaborate with a range of professional colleagues.

Julie Rosenberg, PT, PC, is a private orthopedic physical therapy practice that initially operated on-campus at Purchase College, S.U.N.Y. where it served college students, faculty and members of the community. Now, and exclusively in Katonah, NY the office sees patients on a cash-basis.

My interest has always been to not only treat the injury at hand, but to provide an education in the prevention of recurrence. I stay informed in current concepts of physical therapy, nutrition, and medicine & science in sports and exercise. Medically, I familiarize myself with basic sciences that underlie physical pathologies, as well as, surgical interventions that impact my patients in order to help them achieve an understanding of their problem and therapeutic options.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to set up an appointment.

MORE COMPLETE RECOVERY IN FEWER VISITS

When you are injured or faced with a painful physical condition, the last thing you want or need is to have a delayed recovery process or worse, not reach your fullest potential in outcomes.

Today’s health care climate has forced many medical and rehabilitation practitioners to operate in ways that diminish the care they are capable of providing. Some practices have adopted a high volume, "factory" approach. Others may utilize less qualified staff.

For the patient, it often comes down to unfinished business: problems that recur instead of being resolved to completion.

Julie Rosenberg, PT, PC is solely established to provide physical therapy care in accordance to the specific needs presented in each patient. Practice goals are driven by results, not numbers.

The goals of Julie Rosenberg, PT PC:
1) To effectively restore an individual’s function through implementation of skilled physical therapy evaluation and treatment by a qualified, experienced physical therapist, one patient at a time.

2) To provide an individual with the necessary education, tools and training to prevent recurrence.

PROGRESS IN MOTION

We all know that great achievements come from dedication and effort. The same holds true when it comes to improved physical function.

In order to achieve a successful physical therapy outcome, dedication and effort are required by BOTH patient and therapist.

FAQS

1. Do you accept health insurance for physical therapy services?

No. Currently, I operate as a cash-based private practitioner.

2. Do I need a Doctor's prescription to receive physical therapy from Julie Rosenberg, PT, PC?

No. The first 10 visits or 30-days you do not need a prescription; however, check with your insurance company to find out if they require that you have one in order to reimburse you.

3. Do you accept Medicare?

My practice does not accept physical therapy patients who are Medicare beneficiaries. However, if you are a Medicare beneficiary and desire a non-physical therapy, general strength & conditioning program, inquire about cash-based health & fitness options for you.

4. What can I expect during my first physical therapy visit?

A complete review of your history, pertinent imaging reports and tests, and a comprehensive examination of the current problem and discussion of the treatment plan. In most cases, you will receive treatment on your first visit.

5. Will you submit the claims to my insurance company?

No. A super bill containing the applicable codes used in your PT visit will be given to you, in order for you to submit to your insurance company, once payment has been made.

6. How long is a PT visit?

It depends on the problem we are working on. Generally you can plan on 45 to 60 minutes. The first visit is an Evaluation and will take longer and may last up to 90 minutes. Other details like, how often and how many visits will be needed, will be discussed during the Evaluation.

PRINCIPLE OF SPECIFICITY

Julie Rosenberg, PT, MS, MA, Former Competitive Triathlete.

Julie Rosenberg, PT. Former Competitive Triathlete

Half the battle in getting results with any therapeutic regiment is obtaining clarification of the cause of the problem; proper diagnosis.

Improper diagnosis may lead to a blind treatment program: a shot in the dark or worse, years spent receiving multiple interventions by multiple practitioners only to leave you frustrated and still in pain.

Julie Rosenberg, PT takes the necessary time to perform a thorough patient screening in order to zero-in on relative contributions to and manifestations of the problem so that a targeted physical therapy plan of care is established.

When appropriate, Julie Rosenberg, PT will not hesitate to refer a patient for further clarification (tests, consult, images, labs) of a particular problem in order to clarify diagnosis. In the case of a problem being outside of the scope of her practice, she will help guide a patient toward an alternative practitioner/intervention.

THE ROAD TO SUCCESS

The road to improvement can be a windy road. Having less pain and increased function usually involves an amount of work that can lead one to have a new level of awareness in his or her body.

It is in the new awareness that jets an individual on course to maintaining long-term success.

Joining forces with a competent physical therapist like Julie Rosenberg, PT who aims to exceed the standard-of-care, sets progress-in-motion; paves the way for long-term success in your health.
